We've Never Done This Before

We've been holding seminars for lifer families for over 6 years now, but our first seminar this year, March 16 in Sacramento, will be something new. First, we've got two great speakers, Jennifer Shaffer, Executive Director of the Board of Parole Hearings, who has been incredibly generous with her time over the past 4 or 5 years, attending and answering questions. Additionally, for the first time, Sec. of Corrections Ralph Diaz will also be speaking, to provide information and answer questions. And top lifer attorney Michael Beckman will also be there to offer insight and take your questions.

And that's only the first part of the day. The afternoon sessions will allow attendees to delve deeper into specific areas of lifer process and policy, through participation in small groups concentrating on specific subjects. We'll offer 4 different subjects, ranging from extensive exploration of the parole process and policy to how to understand and use the new laws effective this year. You'll have the chance to attend 2 different small groups, in addition to the presentations in the morning and late afternoon. We're excited about the small group presentations--if you've been to a seminar in past years you know there's always something new to learn and this year you can go deeper into areas that apply to you and your lifer.

Be sure to sign up and reserve your seat--that's the only way to assure you have a seat, a resource packet and---LUNCH! Go to the EVENTS page on the website and sign up now...
